How to clear the DNS Server Cache and Client Caches to Remove Fake IP Addresses

Many times we faces this issue as when we browse a website and that does not show the updated contents or updated IP address. It happens due to DNS cache stored at our machine or our dns server. Cache is also used to protect and speedup browsing or accessing IP information. But sometimes we need to clear old cache to back on new content as before the defined time.

Dns server cache issue troubleshoot

So here are the steps listed below to get resolved cache issue

The commands used for clearing the fake identity current of IPs
how to clear old cache
dnscmd /clearcache
and
ipconfig /flushdns

The both are used for clearing the old cache of resolution but there are difference between them. the ans is are here:

the first cmd
dnscmd /clearcache

Used for clear the cache on server and can be used in windows server 200,2003,2008 and 2012.

ipconfig /flushdns

the second one is used on all client whatever is it like Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2012 .

Note:

if you have cleared the dns cache on dns server that does not mean the client automatically clear its locale cache. you need to run flushdns on client to immediately effect.
